
Absentee Ballots will be available from the Poweshiek County Auditor, Melissa Eilander, beginning on October 14, 2026, for the General Election held November 3, 2026.
To Request an Absentee Ballot: A voter may request a ballot by either completing a State of Iowa Official Absentee Ballot Request Form or write on a piece of paper no smaller than 3x5 inches the following information: Name of voter, voter’s address, address to which the ballot should be sent, if different from voter’s address, voter’s date of birth, driver license number or voter PIN, date and/or name of the election for which the voter is requesting a ballot & voter’s signature and date of signature. The completed request can be mailed to the Auditor’s Office, PO Box 57, Montezuma, IA 50171.
The last day the Auditor’s Office can mail a requested ballot is October 19, 2026.

Absentee voters may also vote in person at the County Auditor's Office beginning October 14, 2026, through November 2, 2026. Courthouse hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
