Notice of change of polling place in accordance with Chapter 49 2022 Code of Iowa. Voters in: Brooklyn-Guernsey-Malcom Community School District will vote at: Michael J. Manatt Community Center 105 Jackson Street Brooklyn, Iowa In the Special Election to be held on September 13, 2022.

Voters in the Lynnville-Sully School District residing within Poweshiek County will vote at Poweshiek County Fairgrounds 4-H Building, 425 East Street South, Grinnell, IA.

Voters in the BGM & HLV School District residing within Poweshiek County will vote at Michael J. Manatt Community Center, 105 Jackson Street, Brooklyn, IA.

 

Absentee Ballots are available from the Poweshiek County Auditor, Melissa Eilander beginning on August 24th for the Special Election held September 13, 2022 in the Brooklyn-Guernsey-Malcom Community School District, Hartwick-Ladora-Victor Community School District, & Lynnville-Sully Community School District.

A voter may request a ballot by either completing a State of Iowa Official Absentee Ballot Request Form or write on a piece of paper no smaller than 3x5 inches the following information: Name of voter, voter’s address, address to which the ballot should be sent, if different from voter’s address, voter’s date of birth, driver license number or voter pin number,  date and/or name of the election for which the voter is requesting a ballot & voter’s signature.  The completed request can be mailed to the Auditor’s Office, PO Box 57, Montezuma, IA  50171.

The last day the Auditor’s office can mail out a requested ballot will be August 29, 2022.

Absentee voters may also vote in person at the County Auditor's Office beginning August 24, 2022, until Election Day.  Courthouse hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
